bugs
Join us on a bug hunt!

We raced to complete a robust platform in a mere 30 days, which means that not everything is going to be working perfectly. Help us kick the tires and suggest ways to make the site better and more engaging. Click the 'Feedback' tab on the left to drop us a note about what's broken or tell us something cool to do. We'll be watching and cooking up ways to show our appreciation for your help.

What's the point of this site?

The purpose for Deutschinc.com is to attract forward-thinking clients and cutting-edge talent. And oh, we love video. We measure its success based on three metrics: 1) New business leads, 2) talent inquiries, and 3) sharing across the web. Keep those in mind when you suggest new features or functionality.

Known issues and future plans

We didn't focus on mobile or integrating social. We had tons of ideas but not enough time to do them properly. We also plan to add a people section that will bring more personality to the site. Video quality is key and Chrome doesn't handle the full screen video in the browser very well, so we may migrate to HTML5 video for chrome. And the content was hard to pull together - we need more content to make sections feel richer. We have a grasp on some of the bugs we are launching with but please help us find more and make it better.

Background and Pre-Launch Updates

How many on the team? @deutschinc site #30days2beta - deutschinc.com

Your usual suspects in the room include 1 producer, 2 developers, 1 designer, and 1 UX ninja. Give them all a follow to show your support - @luisaguiluz @benjamingorton @defyes @justiceerolin @luzmercado. Behind the scenes, the whole agency is supporting them in their epic quest under the microscope.

Are you guys in dev @deutschinc? Or are you still in design phase? #30days2beta

The answer is both. We had an initial concept that we started with and then we put a team together to bring it to life. So UX & Design & Tech & Production all in a room together for the length of the project. It's a very collaborative approach with us all commenting on different aspects of what each other is working on. And because of proximity we can be faster and make decisions as a team. Our belief is that great digital is a team sport and that means getting all the right people together around a table and dedicating them to the project.

Why does it take 30 days for 10 people to build an agency site? Doesn't really sound very "lean" or "agile."

5 people are sprinting to build the first iteration of a cross-platform, rich media centered, interactive expression of our core beliefs and past work in 17 working days (with the Thanksgiving Holiday tossed in there) - and other teams are producing content for the site in that same timeframe. We think that's a monumental task and we're insanely proud of our team for taking on the challenge. We aren't claiming to be the first to go agile or even the best, but we're committed to getting better.

Google and facebook ship code every single day and it effects around a billion people. Deutsch is taking 30 days to ship what will literally be seen by dozens of people. Congrats.

Our objective for the site is to attract leading clients and the smartest talent. Each one of those visits is potentially huge for us and we take that interaction very seriously. We handle you with care. Second, comparing us to Google and Facebook is flattering but a wee unfair. They aren't bad role models though, we can do more to ship code faster and more often, and we formally accept your challenge.
